Daniel Zozaya is an associate in the corporate practice, where he provides comprehensive assistance to clients in all aspects of commercial real estate. His practice focuses on delivering tailored solutions across joint ventures, private equity fund formation, and the acquisition, disposition, financing, leasing, and development of real estate assets. Daniel has extensive experience across various asset classes, including industrial, mixed-use, retail, office, hospitality, and single and multifamily residential properties. His background also includes advising clients on executive compensation, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings, public debt offerings, ESG (environmental, social, and governance) initiatives, and general corporate legal matters.
Prior to joining Akin, Daniel was a real estate associate at another leading global firm. He has also worked as a legal extern at NCR Corporation and as a legal intern at Chick-Fil-A Corporate, where he assisted with various legal matters. From 2012 to 2014, he proudly served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador.
Daniel received his J.D. with honors from Emory University School of Law, where he was a Robert W. Woodruff Fellow and a member of the Order of the Barristers. He also holds a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Missouri and a B.A. in Political Science from The George Washington University.
