Akin Gump Advised on $21B 7-Eleven Deal Named to D CEO M&A Awards

(Dallas) – Akin Gump is pleased to share that a deal on which it advised—7-Eleven’s acquisition of leading convenience store chain Speedway from Marathon Petroleum Corp.—has been named the Deal of the Year ($1+ billion) at D CEO’s Mergers & Acquisitions Awards. An Akin Gump team led by corporate partners Tom Yang and Nicholas Houpt advised 7-Eleven in the matter. Mr. Yang was also a finalist for Dealmaker of the Year.

In its ninth year, the M&A Awards recognize the top North Texas deals and dealmakers from the previous year. A private awards ceremony was held on May 6.
