INSOL Publishes Chapter on Secured Claims in Hong Kong Written by Naomi Moore, Jeremy Haywood

In its new book Treatment of Secured Claims in Insolvency and Pre-Insolvency Proceedings II, the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Professionals (INSOL) has included a chapter on Hong Kong written by Akin Gump financial restructuring partner Naomi Moore and counsel Jeremy Haywood.
The chapter covers a wide variety of topics related to security rights over movable and immovable property in Hong Kong as well as security interests that arise by operation of common law or statute. The authors also discuss, among other topics, enforcement of security rights and the most common pre-insolvency proceedings in Hong Kong, as well as the types of available insolvency proceedings, their criteria and other topics related to these actions; granting of security rights or interests to creditors; enforcement of security rights; relative priorities in distributions; and protection of interests in collateral by secured creditors.
