Akin assists government contractors on a range of matters involving the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). Our lawyers assist clients with defending their confidential, proprietary and personal information in the face of FOIA requests from competitors, the media and others. 

We are also skilled with using FOIA offensively and work with our clients to employ FOIA in the pursuit of information from the government and other players in the market. Members of our team have experience handling reverse FOIA cases and have also advised clients on the merits of filing litigation challenging FOIA denials and handling the litigation when they opt to do so.
