Akin Advises EEP and Stonepeak on Acquisition of Anwim from Enterprise Investors

(London) – Akin has advised Energy Equation Partners (EEP) and Stonepeak on the acquisition of Anwim S.A., one of Poland’s fastest-growing fuel companies, from Enterprise Investors.
Enterprise Investors, through Polish Enterprise Fund VIII, initially acquired a significant minority stake in Anwin in 2018 and increased its holding to a majority position in 2020. The firm has now exited the investment through the sale of Anwim to EEP and Stonepeak.
The Akin team was led by corporate partner Shaun Lascelles and included counsel Charlotte Irvine and Andrew Finogin, and associates Shahnur Chauhan and Gloriya Andonova alongside international trade associate Simi Malhi.
The antitrust & international competition work was led by partner Davina Garrod and included senior counsel Savas Manoussakis and counsel Marianna Meriani.
The tax aspects were led by partner Natasha Kaye with counsel Mo Natha and associate Ivan Jelocnik.
Alongside Akin, Rymarz Zdort Maruta also served as legal counsel to EEP and Stonepeak.
The transaction follows Akin’s recent work advising EEP and Stonepeak on their approximately €2.5 billion acquisition of a majority interest in JET Tankstellen Deutschland GmbH from Phillips 66 in 2025.
Akin is a leading international law firm with more than 900 lawyers in offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
