- Represents employers in labor and employment matters, including class, collective and representative actions.
Alex Johnson counsels clients on a variety of employment issues, with a significant focus on class, collective and representative actions involving wage and hour issues. Alex regularly advises clients on claims regarding:
- Joint employment
- Meal and rest breaks
- Off-the-clock work
- Overtime, including regular rate calculation
- Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA)
- Pay equity
- Wage statements
- Worker misclassification.
Her clients include Fortune 500 companies and employers in a number of industries, including retail, technology, biopharmaceutical and manufacturing.
Representative Work
- Secured denial of class certification on behalf of a multinational technology company in a gender-based employment discrimination class action.*
- Achieved a favorable settlement of a wage and hour class and PAGA representative action involving alternative workweek schedules on behalf of a Fortune 500 food distributor.
- Represented a major social networking company in a wage and hour class and PAGA representative action involving joint employer issues.*
- Obtained a classwide settlement and release of wage and hour claims for a Fortune Global 500 manufacturer.*
