Biography
  • Advises employers on a wide variety of labor and employment matters.

Alex assists clients with labor and employment issues in the context of corporate mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions and financial restructurings. Alex conducts due diligence, drafts and negotiates purchase and credit agreements, and advises employers on transferring, hiring, and terminating workers. 

Clients trust Alex to counsel them on complex labor and employment issues affecting their workforce.  She primarily services clients in the private equity and hedge fund industry and is particularly knowledgeable about California’s dynamic employment law landscape.  Alex drafts and negotiates employment agreements, separation agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, and other employment-related agreements. 

Alex has also represented Fortune 500 companies in high-stakes employment disputes, including pay equity class actions, wage and hour class, collective, and representative actions, single-plaintiff harassment, discrimination, and retaliation litigation, governmental investigations, and private arbitrations. 

Representative Work
  • Secured denial of class certification on behalf of a multinational technology company in a gender-based employment discrimination class action.
  • Achieved a favorable settlement of a wage and hour class and PAGA representative action involving alternative workweek schedules on behalf of a Fortune 500 food distributor.
  • Represented a major social networking company in a wage and hour class and PAGA representative action involving joint employer issues.
  • Obtained a classwide settlement and release of wage and hour claims for a Fortune Global 500 manufacturer.
