Brendan advises the world’s leading investment managers in all aspects of secondaries fund formation and transactions. He has a particular focus on the representation of buyers, including lead investors, and sellers in the acquisition and sale of investments on the secondary market. He counsels clients on traditional multi-manager portfolio sales, recapitalizations and restructurings, GP-led transactions, tender offers and other liquidity solutions.
Brendan has a sophisticated practice advising U.S. and international fund sponsors in connection with the formation, structuring, fundraising and operation of domestic and off-shore private investment funds, including private equity funds, real estate funds, credit funds and secondaries-focused funds. Brendan’s experience also includes representing institutional investors and sovereign investors in connection with their investments in private investment funds.
Prior to joining Akin, Brendan was an associate in the investment funds group of another large international law firm.
