Biography
- Advises private investment funds on formation matters.
- Advises on secondary transactions.
- Advises investors on their primary investments.
Matthew Allan advises private equity funds, institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds and funds of funds. His experience includes acting for fund managers on fund formation and ongoing regulatory and management issues relating to private equity funds.
He also advises on general partner (GP)-led recapitalizations and other secondary transactions.
Matthew spent time on secondment with a leading investment fund manager based in London.
Representative Work
- Representing Adelis Equity Partners on Adelis Equity Partners Fund III The fund was significantly oversubscribed, raising €855 million.
- Representing Coller Credit Opportunities I on the successful acquisition of fund interests from Cathay Life Insurance Co. Coller was one of four buyers in the deal, which involved the acquisition of interests across eight private funds from Cathay Life (with the total portfolio estimated to be valued at around $300 million). The transaction is another market-leading transaction completed by the Coller Credit Secondaries team.
