Jake C. Rodriguez is an associate in the investment management practice, focusing primarily on the private equity fund and hedge fund space, including both fund formation and limited partner representations. Mr. Rodriguez also has experience related to the Investment Company Act of 1940 and has worked on a variety of transactions for registered investment companies, including fund launches, fund mergers and compliance matters.
Mr. Rodriguez received his B.A. with high distinction in 2007 from the University of California - Berkeley, M.A. in 2011 from the University of Alberta, and J.D. in 2015 from Columbia Law School. While attending Columbia Law School, he was a staff editing member of the Journal of Transnational Law and a recipient of the Parker School of Comparative and Foreign Law Certificate. Mr. Rodriguez also served on the boards of both the Latino Law Students Association and Columbia Outlaws.
Prior to joining Akin Gump, Mr. Rodriguez was a member of the pooled investment entities practice group at another global law firm in the New York office where he worked on both private (open and closed end) and registered fund offerings and investor representations.
