Johanna is an associate in the firm’s litigation practice. She assists clients on a range of litigation matters.

Prior to joining Akin, she served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Catharina Haynes at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and a summer intern at the Texas Supreme Court Children’s Commission. Before law school, Johanna was an associate member of the state bar of Texas, serving as an attorney ad litem for victims of child abuse and neglect.

Johanna earned her J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law, magna cum laude, where she served as an associate managing editor for the Journal of Air Law & Commerce. She also received the John E. Kennedy Memorial Award and was a Squire Patton Boggs Public Policy Fellow. Johanna holds B.A. degrees in English and Human Rights, summa cum laude, from Southern Methodist University.
