Thorvald (Thor) J. Petersen is an associate in the international trade practice.

Mr. Petersen advises U.S. and international clients in complying with a range of international trade laws and regulations.

Mr. Petersen received his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law where he was a James Kent Scholar, received the Richard J. Lipson & Paul S. Lipson prize for greatest proficiency in contracts and served as articles editor for the Human Rights Law Review. Mr. Petersen earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in English, Economics and Public Policy.

Mr. Petersen was a member of Akin Gump’s 2016 summer associate class.
