The Legal 500 US 2020 Recommends 29 Akin Practices and 106 Lawyers

(Washington, D.C.) – The Legal 500, in its 13th edition of The Legal 500 United States, has highlighted a number of Akin Gump practices and lawyers as leaders in their respective areas. According to the publication, the rankings involved careful consideration of evaluations given by law firms, their peers and clients.
For the fifth year in a row, Akin Gump ranked as a top-tier firm in two categories of finance - restructuring (including bankruptcy): corporate and government - government relations. The Legal 500 US has also recognized nine Akin Gump lawyers as “Leading Lawyers,” two as “Hall of Fame” and two as “Next Generation Partners” in their respective fields.
The firm’s “Leading Lawyers” include the following:
- Supreme Court and appellate practice co-head Pratik A. Shah
- financial restructuring partner Ira S. Dizengoff
- public law and policy practice co-heads G. Hunter Bates and Brian Arthur Pomper
- global project finance practice co-heads John J. Marciano III and Daniel Phillip Sinaiko
- global corporate practice co-head John Goodgame
- oil and gas partner Christine B. LaFollette
- entertainment partner P. John Burke.
This is the fourth consecutive recognition for Mr. Burke, the third for Mr. Shah, and the second for Messrs. Dizengoff, Bates, Pomper, Marciano and Goodgame.
The firm’s “Hall of Fame” includes financial restructuring partner Daniel H. Golden and investment management practice co-head Stephen M. Vine.
The firm’s “Next Generation Partners” include global project finance partner Matthew C. Nesburn and oil & gas partner David H. Sweeney.
